Our community is important to us!  GRCCU employees and Board of Directors are committed to enhancing the lives of our members and our community.  We proudly sponsor the Wyoming Recreation Spring Youth Soccer program.  In addition, we participate in events at the Godwin Heights Public Schools and hold events to support the Family Network of Wyoming.  If you see us around town, be sure to say hello!

GR Consumers Credit Union was founded in 1941 by employees of Consumers Energy (formerly Consumers Power Company) to provide low cost loans and financial services to fellow employees.

In 1985, GR Consumers Credit Union began expanding our field of membership by adding Business Partners. Businesses within a 25 mile radius of our office, who do not have a credit union of their own, are encouraged to offer membership at GR Consumers Credit Union to their employees. As an added benefit, family members of these employees were eligible to join the credit union and enjoy the same membership advantages.

In 2013, GRCCU expanded again when we became a community chartered credit union.  This expanded our member to anyone who lives, works, worships or goes to school in the Michigan counties of Kent, Ottawa and Muskegon.   If you live, work, worship or go to school in these counties, we are excited to meet you.  Stop in to open an account today. 

Since our inception in 1941, we have grown to $50 million in assets with 3200 members.

We will continually strive to provide friendly, professional and knowledgeable member service while working to aid our members in their social and economic growth with competitive rates, low fees, and products and services to improve their standard of living.

We, the staff and official family of GR Consumers Credit Union, are constantly evolving for the betterment of our members and will maintain the friendly atmosphere for which we are known.
